OUR STORY
General Audience is a monthly, community-based, informal lecture series, which provides an opportunity for people to share knowledge, experience, research, creative projects, information, and ideas in a comfortable and friendly environment.
Founded by Jessie Curell in December 2015, General Audience's first three events took place in Jessie Curell's Montreal living room. Due to the event's success and growing popularity, Jessie approached Leigh Kotsilidis to move the event to her loft space and join on as a co-curator. In March 2016, General Audience was officially moved to the Rocket Science Room, a loft space located in Tiohtiá:ke (Montreal, Canada) on unceded Kanien'kehá:ka territory, in the Mile-Ex neighbourhood (a trendy neighbourhood bordered by Little Italy, Parc Extension, and Mile End).
All General Audience events are Pay What You Can and not-for-profit.
